Startup Defender 2.2

Startup Defender is a small program that sits in your Windows tray and constantly monitors in real time the startup locations on your PC to help prevent programs from auto starting up behind your back. If a program tries to write itself into any startup location Startup Defender will popup a windows and ask if the program is allowed to place itself to start automatically with Windows. Also you can disable/enable any programs that are currently installed to startup auotmatically. If there is an entry you are not sure what it is then you can Google it to see if it is needed or even harmful and choose if you want it to load it at startup or not.

Make the application smaller, it should not consume over 20 megabytes of ram while sitting in the system tray

Add more additional features, like optimizing startup program etc. Otherwise, this program is a bit simple.

Have an option for a desktop Icon

I tend to organize my programs on my desktop. Trying to find the program after installation took about five minutes of searching for Start Up, then the installation date before I found 'Zarg'. It's much easier to just have the desktop option.

Should have .NET framework integrated to it.

Close the Startup Manager without exiting app

When you view the Startup Manager and close the form, the whole application exits. Would be better if this wasn't the case.

Not have the program exit when exiting the Startup Manager form

When you close the Startup Manager form, the whole program closes. Would be good if this wasn't the case.

Do not use extra software to run it. It will be more professional if it did not need extra liberary to run.

If this is really professional software it would not need .NET to run properly. I will uninstall it. I need no extra software to control a startup software and use another running in the background. This is insane.

Add identification of start up programs with a data base on line so that I know what I can, shouldn't and really will regret turning off.

Searching for valid information on what does what can be time consuming and quite dangerous. Some information is bad either through people thinking they know what their advising or people who just want others to be miserable.

Have a Clock/Day menu to run the program on a schedule basis rather than continuously Save memory and processor time

Not effect my system speed

This is a GREAT idea of a program it lets you know what is going on (windows should already do this IMO) although this app Slows my system soooo much I had to uninstall it.

$19.95?! Are you dreaming?!

$20 for a program which only monitors the startup settings is ridiculous. Many FREE programs (like Revo Uninstaller) have it built-in. I would say freeware of maybe a $1 price tag would be appropriate.

Save and/or print out listings of programs, processes, and services, and set services to manual/automatic.

There is a lot of useful information, but no way to keep a record of what each process, service, and program does.

have .NET framework install option available with program install.

Some computers may not have the required .Net framework installed. It would be a great feature if the option wasd available durring the install process.

integrate the latest version of .NET Framework with the software with a choice on the website if they don't have the framework, they can get it included with the package so that those who don't have it can get alongwith the software.

I also want this software to be developed in such a way that when it is installed, it hides itself from everywhere except from C Drive.
